V PAINTING PRIZE - SPAIN
Deadline: November 14 th 2009
For this XV Painting Prize, every author can introduce a maximum of two works, whose dimensions won't be inferior to 100 cm. neither superior to 180 cm. for every side. It will be offered a first prize of Euro 6.000 that will be indivisible and can be declared desert. The winning work will remain exclusive ownership of the organizing municipality, which, as owner, can reproduce it in whatever type of support or technique, photography, engraving, lithographies, etc..
The jury can decide for the acquisition of more works, that will be paid on the base of the economic evaluation furnished by the author. The introduced works will have to be unique and original and they must not have been awarded in any other contest. The theme and the technique will be completely free. Works protected by glass or realized with material whose transport represents a risk for the integrity of the work won’t be admitted.

ILLUSTRATORS AWARD – GERMANY
Deadline: 30 of September 2009
The Award is a unique competition awarding creativity and innovation in personal contemporary illustration and graphics. The award encourages and supports designers in their artistic practice and offers an international and worldwide recognized platform to them. Illustrative art works, art projects with graphic influences, animations and book art objects qualify for submission.
The nominees of the Award will be invited to Berlin and get the opportunity to exhibit their work at Illustrative 2009 in Berlin. The winners await prizes worth 6.000 Euros as well as publications and illustration agency contracts and will also be featured in future international shows. One winner will be invited to design a Swatch Watch – a great opportunity to join the ranks of artists such as Kiki Picasso, Pedro Almodóvar, Robert Altman and Keith Haring.
Eligible applicants are illustrators, visual artists, graphic designers, animators, book artists, as well as students and apprentices. The minimum age is 21 years. A maximum age doesn’t exist, despite the name of the competition. The nominees will be awarded by an international jury consisting of leading art directors, experts and editors of graphic and design magazines.
The call for the Award opens in June and continues till the end of September 2009. An international jury decides in October about each of the category’s winners.
Within the Illustrative festival in autumn 2009, the Golden Awards and further prizes will be awarded in a festive ceremony. A selection of works awarded by the Award will be presented at future Illustrative festivals.

II VISUAL ARTS COMPETITION - SPAIN

The objective of this II competition of visual Arts is to stimulate the creation in the field of the visual plastic arts, the interdisciplinary job, the critical reflection on the contemporary society and to structure an exhibition beginning from the proposed theme.
Every artist or collective, can introduce more than a project, that reflects on the theme "critical Moments", from the perspective of the art compromised with the social context and the aesthetical experimentation. Projects of all the artistic disciplines are admitted: painting, sculpture, photo, illustration, video, installation, performance, etc…..
First prize of Euro 6000 for the development of the project. The exhibition of the winning project will take place on November 2010 with the edition of a relative catalogue. ART OF FLOWERS – UNITED STATES

This juried art competition and exhibition was initially conceived to recognize, promote and reward excellence in representational floral art, and to enhance public appreciation and awareness. cash awards including $25,000 Best of Show Award plus. $40,000 in cash and other awards to be announced. Artworks selected by an eminently-qualified jury will be featured in the premiere exhibition in Houston, Texas. All the exhibited art works will be on sale. The competition is open to any living artist. Works must be original, completed after September 1, 2008, and must not have won any previous prize or award in any other competition. Jurors will select exceptional artworks that depict and interpret floral subjects in a variety of environments. Original, two-dimensional art only. Excluded are: computer enhanced or generated artwork, sculpture, reproduction prints, photography, video, and any other
media not qualified below. All two-dimensional painting or drawing media are eligible. Qualifying Media include: oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, tempura, batik, alkyd, scratchboard, original prints (e.g., lithographie, etching, engraving, serigraph). Not including frame or mat, the maximum size for entered artworks is 660 square inches.

XXX PAINTING PRIZE - SPAIN

The Culture Department of a town hall in Spain, announces a new edition of its painting contest, in which every author can send a maximum of two works with liberty of theme and style. There will be a special mention for works with local thematic. The works will have minimum dimensions of 81x65 cm and maximum of 200x200 cm.
